RFI Studios Creates Interactive Historical Timeline for NAACP
February 26, 2010
RFI Studios has announced the launch of the NAACP Interactive Historical Timeline, a multimedia site that chronicles the story of the 101-year-old civil rights organization. Pictures, video, and text illustrate the site, which was funded through a $500,000 grant from Verizon Foundation, Verizon’s literacy and education-promoting charity. The site’s information and imagery will be available to educators and students via Verizon Thinkfinity, a nonprofit educational website.
“The NAACP Historical Timeline is a perfect showcase for RFI’s expertise in creating state-of-the-art, interactive educational sites. Its sleek design and multimedia features really do justice to the tremendous historical significance of the NAACP,” said project lead Stephen Downs.
The timeline shows the chronology of the NAACP’s involvement in key Civil Rights moments, each of which includes a written narrative, video and images, as well as audio narratives by a celebrity. Celebrities participating in the project include actor, director and producer Laurence Fishburne; actress and singer Tatyana Ali; actress Tichina Arnold; actor Dennis Haysbert; actress and director Nia Long; actress Tracee Ellis Ross; actor Nate Parker; and actress and director Chandra Wilson.
